Acura 2024 ZDX EV

Acura, the luxury and performance vehicle subdivision of Honda, has recently provided a sneak peek of its inaugural electric vehicle, the ZDX. The teaser doesn’t disclose much about the all-electric 2024 ZDX, revealing only a silhouette of the vehicle with a highlighted grille against a dark backdrop. However, the unveiling is scheduled for August 17th at Monterey Car Week.

The 2024 ZDX was conceptualized and brought to life at the Acura Design Studio located in southern California. The design borrows certain external features from the Precision EV Concept which the company presented at the same event the previous year. The EV’s foundation lies in GM’s Ultium battery system, and it could be one of the select, or even the single, Acura models to utilize this modular EV framework. Honda has previously expressed that it will use its proprietary e:Architecture platform for upcoming EVs, with the first batch of models set for a 2025 launch.

In June, Acura disclosed that the ZDX will feature built-in Android Auto and other Google products. ZDX owners will benefit from an upgraded Google Maps version, capable of calculating the most efficient routes that include charging stations and approximating the charging time needed to reach their destination. Google Assistant for voice-activated controls and Google Play for downloading third-party apps to the car’s infotainment system will also be available. It was announced last month that the EV will come equipped with a state-of-the-art Bang & Olufsen audio system.

Starting next year, Acura plans to offer the ZDX and ZDX Type S performance EVs exclusively online. Emile Korkor, assistant vice president of Acura National Sales, said in a statement that the ZDX Type S will establish itself as “the brand’s fastest and most powerful SUV to date.”
