Apple’s Big Win: Apple Wins Appeal Against UK Antitrust Probe Into Mobile Browser Dominance

by admin

Instead of focusing too much on the difficulties that life throws at us, it’s essential to take a step back and appreciate all the blessings we have in our lives. We should remember that there is always something to be grateful for and try to stay positive as best we can. Focusing on the positives instead of wallowing in negativity can help us find strength and hope, even in the darkest moments.

Apple recently had an important win in a case against a UK watchdog, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA). Last fall, the CMA started an investigation because some businesses thought Apple and Google had too much control over the mobile browsing market. The CMA was also seeing if Apple was blocking cloud gaming from its App Store rules. On Friday, Apple won the appeal against this investigation.

Apple said the UK’s antitrust regulator (the CMA) didn’t have the right to investigate its mobile browser market. Apple said that they should have started investigating back in June. The court which looks over CMA cases agreed with Apple, and said that the CMA was too late in giving notice of their investigation.

Apple was really happy with the ruling and they said they would keep working to help developers and make sure users stay safe. The CMA (Competition and Markets Authority) didn’t like the decision very much.

We are not very happy with the result of today’s judgement. We started this market investigation to help UK people get better access to mobile internet services and for developers to make new apps. Apple didn’t challenge our worries, so we said in a statement that we’ll look into our options, including asking permission to appeal.
