Star Wars Outlaws Gameplay Trailer

Ubisoft pulled back the curtain on Star Wars Outlaws at Microsoft’s Xbox and Starfield Showcase on Sunday, promising a more detailed gameplay trailer at the Ubisoft Forward event the next day. Indeed, the company outdid themselves, unveiling a gripping 10-minute trailer that provides an in-depth look at the eagerly anticipated game.

The trailer kicks off on the planet of Toshara, showcasing protagonist Kay Vess and her loyal sidekick Nix covertly infiltrating a criminal syndicate complex. Kay can rely on the charming Nix to navigate the environment while she focuses on dispatching adversaries. If a guard catches Kay mid-sneak, she has the option to take a page out of pre-1997 Han Solo’s playbook and shoot first. Once a fight breaks out, Kay wields a blaster pistol with a variety of ammunition to counter different enemies, including those equipped with energy shields. Amidst the chaos, Nix can salvage blaster rifles fallen from enemies for Kay to utilize, although they seem to have limited ammo. The game does not confine you to only traversing by foot – you can zip across the game’s world on a speeder bike or pilot a starship through the skies and into space, all with seamless transitions.

Star Wars Outlaws is slated for release next year on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The development of the game is led by Massive Entertainment, renowned for their work on The Division franchise, and is supported by a vast range of Ubisoft’s first-party studios. Thanks to Massive’s proprietary Snowdrop engine, the game boasts impressive graphics.

Looks like they’ve learnt from the Han shot first controversy. Loving the nod to that in the gameplay trailer.
